SUMMER REU OPPORTUNITY

The Team for Research in Ubiquitous Secure Technology (TRUST) will sponsor 20 undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, to participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience located at TRUST partner campuses: UC Berkeley, Cornell University, Carnegie Mellon University, Stanford University, Vanderbilt University.  These students will be working with graduate student and faculty mentors throughout the summer performing research and supporting activities in the area of information technology and TRUST related topics.

The USDA Public Service Leaders Scholarship Program provides combined scholarship and internship opportunities to college and university students leading to permanent employment with USDA upon completion of their degree.

REU: The University of Texas Marine Science Institute

  

OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAM: The Marine Science Institute (MSI) of The University of Texas at Austin announces an NSF-funded program during the summer of 2010 for undergraduates interested in marine coastal science research. Students will be trained in laboratory and field methods applied to studies of coastal marine environments and will work on independent projects under the supervision of a faculty mentor. Students will participate in a weekly research seminar series and professional development activities. Students will also participate in scientific excursions related to field research, including a 2-day research cruise along the Texas coast at the beginning of the program. You can expect that many activities will be outdoors and that some field trips may include camping.  

REU Benefits:

Who Should Apply?  

  • Students in Sophomore or Junior Year of College

REU- University of Houston-Downtown

If you want to earn some money as well as gain some research experience during this summer, here is a great opportunity –  Undergraduate Research Experience at the University of Houston-Downtown.

The REU program at the University of Houston Downtown aims to academically prepare motivated and talented undergraduate students for graduate schools and advanced research careers through an intensive 10-week summer research program.  Funded by the National Science Foundation, this program will recruit eight students to participate in the full cycle of research activities, including problem analysis, algorithm design, implementation, evaluation, and publication.  Students will work closely with faculty and industry advisors. Field trip to NASA and University of Texas—Health Science Center.

Summer Internships Seminar

Summer 2010 REU at University of Michigan

The Interdisciplinary REU program will provide undergraduate students with a 10-week summer research experience in the areas of biochemistry, biophysics, cheminformatics, computational chemistry, enzymology, marine biology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, pharmaceutical sciences and plant biology.  The research projects featured in this program all involve studies of the structure and function of proteins.

In addition to the research experience, students will participate in a series of weekly enrichment seminars focusing on scientific communication, graduate school admissions and scientific career options.  Rising juniors and seniors with a sincere interest in the pursuit of Ph.D. studies in science, technology, engineering or mathematics are strongly encouraged to apply.  Applicants must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents. 

Program Dates:  June 7 – August 13, 2010
