Current Research: Cloning the Putative Actin Gene of the Seagrass Syringodium Flilforme
Description: Robert and Dr. Cammarata cloned the putative actin gene of the local seagrass syringodium filiforme. It will be used as a control in a gene regulation assay to determine the stress level and, therefore, health of the seagrass beds. This will be a faster indicator of health compared to the current method, which is a “lagging indicator”.
